  • Use screen readers and browser accessibility features alongside automated/semi-automated tools; automation does not replace manual assessment. Check accessible documents where required.

Essential skills and experience

  • ISTQB Foundation or higher certification, OR equivalent demonstrated testing experience.
  • Active minimum NV1 security clearance; NV2 preferred under the general SOR requirement.
  • Accessibility testing of websites, web applications, digital services, forms and online transactions
  • Strong WCAG 2.1 and/or 2.2 knowledge, including Level A/AA success criteria.
  • Manual keyboard, focus-order, screen-reader, meaningful-sequence, labels, instructions, errors and form testing.
  • Assistive technologies such as JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, Narrator or equivalent.
  • Tools such as axe DevTools, WAVE, Lighthouse, Accessibility Insights, ARC Toolkit or equivalent.
  • Identify, document, prioritise and communicate defects to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Practical remediation advice aligned to WCAG and inclusive design.
  • Testing responsive web interfaces, portals, forms, content pages and transactional services.
  • Azure DevOps or similar for planning, execution, defects, reporting and traceability.
  • Strong written/verbal communication, accessibility reports and release-readiness advice.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills considering user impact, compliance risk and business priority.

Desirable experience

  • IMD testing procedures, QAS and release/change practices.
  • Accessibility testing in secure government, regulated or complex enterprise environments.
  • Salesforce, SmartIQ and Microsoft Power Apps.
  • Cloud-hosted, on-premises, portal and integrated enterprise applications.
  • Accessible PDFs, Word documents, online forms and templates.
  • HTML, CSS, ARIA, JavaScript and front-end accessibility patterns.
  • Technical guidance to developers/designers on remediation.
  • Standards, checklists, reusable scripts, defect libraries and continuous improvement.
  • Accessibility assessment in Agile/sprint testing, UAT, regression and release readiness.
  • Inclusive design, usability, user-experience evaluation and assistive-technology users.
