About the role

SKD Distribution SDN BHD is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable professional with a minimum of 2 years' experience to join our finance team in Alor Setar, Kedah. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in managing our credit operations and ensuring optimal cash flow for the organisation. As Accounts Receivable, you will be responsible for the timely collection of outstanding invoices, credit management, and maintaining accurate financial records. This position is integral to our financial health and directly contributes to the company's profitability and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

1. Process and record customer invoices accurately and promptly into the accounting system
2. Monitor and track outstanding accounts receivable to ensure timely payment collection
3. Send payment reminders, statements and follow-up communications to customers with overdue accounts
4. Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, disputed invoices and customer queries
5. Prepare aged debtor reports and analyse credit trends to identify problem areas
6. Liaise with sales and operations teams to address issues affecting payment collection
7. Maintain credit limits and monitor customer credit worthiness
8. Process customer payments and apply them to appropriate accounts
9. Reconcile customer accounts and investigate variances
10. Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures related to receivables
11. Comply with company policies and accounting standards

What we're looking for

1. Proven minimum 2 years experience in accounts receivable, credit control or a similar finance role within a distribution or trading environment
2. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices related to accounts receivable management
3. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
4. Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
5. Strong communication skills with the ability to professionally handle customer interactions and negotiations
6. Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping and data entry
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
8. Problem-solving skills and the ability to identify process improvements
9. Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and English is preferred
10. Bachelor degree or diploma in accounting or equivalent with experienced in related field is added advantage
