ACCOUNT ASSISTANT

About the role

You will support finance operations in a practical construction environment, recording daily transactions, maintaining accurate ledgers, and ensuring project costs stay current.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily transactions, post journal entries and maintain accurate ledgers in the accounting system
• Prepare and process supplier invoices and payments, ensuring approvals and payment schedules are met
• Perform regular bank reconciliations and resolve variances to keep cash records reliable
• Support month-end tasks and basic bookkeeping to produce clear financial data for the finance team
• Work with site teams and suppliers to verify invoices, track claims and ensure timely collections and payments
• Handle ad hoc finance tasks to support smooth project operations and administrative needs

About you

• Minimum of STPM, LCCI or a Diploma in Accounting, or an equivalent qualification
• At least 1 year of relevant accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably with exposure to construction project accounts
• Comfortable with common accounting software and proficient in Microsoft Excel for data entry and basic analysis
• Hands-on experience with ledger posting, accounts payable processes, bank reconciliations and basic month-end tasks
• Good communication and interpersonal skills and can work closely with site teams and suppliers
• Organised, detail-oriented and reliable, with a practical attitude toward meeting deadlines and supporting the finance workflow
