About the role

We are seeking an Account Assistant to join our Finance team in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of Boon Boon Builder Sdn Bhd. As an Account Assistant, you will be instrumental in ensuring accurate financial records, processing transactions, and providing administrative support to the accounting department. This position is essential to maintaining the financial integrity of our organisation and supporting our broader business objectives.

What you'll be doing

• Processing and recording financial transactions, including invoices, receipts, and expense claims
• Maintaining and reconciling accounts payable and accounts receivable records
• Assisting with bank reconciliations and cash management activities
• Preparing financial documents and reports under the supervision of senior accounting staff
• Data entry and updating of accounting records in the company's accounting system
• Supporting the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Filing and organising financial documents and maintaining proper record-keeping systems
• Responding to accounting-related enquiries from internal departments and external parties
• Assisting with payroll processing and employee expense reimbursements
• Supporting audit activities and providing necessary documentation as required

What we're looking for

• A qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Diploma or Degree preferred)
• Basic understanding of accounting principles, double-entry bookkeeping, and general ledger procedures
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems
• Strong attention to detail with excellent numerical accuracy
• Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Professional demeanour and commitment to confidentiality
• Relevant work experience in an accounting or finance role is advantageous
• Knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards and tax requirements is beneficial
