About the role

We are seeking an Account Assistant to join our team at our Johor Bahru office on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your accounting career within a professional chartered accountancy firm. As an Account Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our accounting operations and contributing to the efficient delivery of financial services to our clients. You will work closely with experienced accountants and gain valuable exposure to diverse accounting practices and procedures.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting in the preparation and maintenance of client accounts and financial records
• Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
• Reconciling bank statements and general ledger accounts
• Preparing journal entries and supporting documentation
• Filing and organizing accounting documents and records in accordance with firm procedures
• Assisting with month-end and year-end account closing procedures
• Supporting the preparation of financial statements and tax returns
• Responding to routine client enquiries and providing administrative support to accounting staff
• Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to professional standards and firm policies

What we're looking for

• Relevant accounting qualifications such as LCCI, ACCA-CAT or equivalent, or willingness to pursue such qualifications
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• A professional attitude with commitment to maintaining client confidentiality
• Previous experience in an accounting or finance role is advantageous but not essential for the right candidate
