Account Assistant

About the role

To provide support in the day-to-day accounting and administrative functions, ensuring accurate financial records, timely processing of transactions, and proper maintenance of accounting documents.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with daily accounting transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Prepare and process invoices, payment vouchers, receipts, and other accounting documents
• Perform data entry and maintain accurate accounting records
• Assist with bank reconciliation and reconciliation of accounts
• Monitor outstanding payments and follow up on receivables when required
• Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and schedules
• Maintain proper filing of invoices, receipts, payment documents, and other financial records
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
• Liaise with suppliers, customers, and internal departments regarding accounting matters
• Support the preparation of documents for audits, tax submissions, and statutory requirements

About you

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Previous experience in an accounting or finance role is an advantage
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Good attention to detail and accuracy
• Good organizational and time-management skills
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
