Account Assistant

About the role

The Account Assistant supports the Finance & Accounts department under the Account Executive or Finance Manager, handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, daily accounting operations, bank reconciliation, and month-end and year-end closing activities.

Key responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices, bills, and payment vouchers
• Verify invoices against purchase orders and delivery orders
• Prepare payments to suppliers and follow up on outstanding balances
• Issue sales invoices, credit notes, and debit notes
• Record customer receipts and update customer accounts
• Monitor outstanding invoices and follow up on overdue payments
• Perform data entry for invoices, receipts, payments, and expenses
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
• Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and year-end closing
• Maintain proper documentation, filing systems, and petty cash management

About you

• Diploma or Certificate in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Good attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
• Responsible and able to meet deadlines
• Data entry and numerical accuracy
