Account Associate

About the role

We are seeking an Account Associate to join ALTIOS Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. in Kuala Lumpur on a full-time basis. This role is fundamental to the smooth operation of our accounting and bookkeeping services, providing essential financial administration support to our clients and internal teams. The Account Associate will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting compliance requirements and contributing to the efficient delivery of accounting services that our clients depend on.

What you'll be doing

• Recording and processing financial transactions, including invoices, receipts and payment records
• Reconciling bank statements and accounts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies
• Preparing and maintaining general ledger entries and balance sheets
• Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and reports for clients
• Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Processing expense claims and reimbursements
• Supporting audit and compliance activities by preparing required documentation
• Liaising with clients to obtain necessary financial information and documentation
• Maintaining confidentiality and accuracy of sensitive financial data
• Contributing to process improvements within the accounting function

What we're looking for

• STPM, Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, with the ability to learn new systems quickly
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Sound understanding of basic bookkeeping principles and accounting concepts
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliability and a professional approach to handling confidential information
• Willingness to develop accounting knowledge and pursue relevant professional qualifications
• Previous experience in bookkeeping, accounting or a similar finance role is preferred but not essential for the right candidate
