Account Clerk

About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Account Clerk to join the accounting team at D K Mak & Co. This is a full-time position based in Sheung Wan, Central and Western District. As an Account Clerk, you will play a vital role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. You will support the accounting function by performing essential clerical and administrative tasks that directly contribute to the smooth operation of our accounting department and the overall financial health of the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Processing and recording financial transactions, including invoices, receipts, and payment vouchers in the accounting system
• Maintaining and organising accounting files and documentation in both physical and digital formats
• Reconciling bank statements and identifying discrepancies
• Assisting with the preparation of monthly financial reports and statements
• Data entry of financial information into accounting software and spreadsheets
• Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
• Assisting with payroll administration and related documentation
• Responding to account enquiries from internal and external stakeholders
• Supporting the preparation of audit documentation and requirements
• Performing general administrative duties to support the accounting team

What we're looking for

• Qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
• Proven experience working in an accounting or finance environment
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
• Strong numerical skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organisational and time management abilities
• Professional communication skills and ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels
• Reliability and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality of financial information
• Basic knowledge of bookkeeping principles and accounting procedures
• Ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
