About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Account Clerk to join the accounting team at KARANGAN AGRICULTURE SDN BHD. This is a full-time position based in Sandakan District, Sabah. As an Account Clerk, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the smooth operation of our accounting functions. This position is essential to ensuring our financial information is reliable, compliant, and readily available for business decision-making.

What you'll be doing

• Recording daily financial transactions, including invoices, receipts, and payments in the accounting system
• Processing and reconciling bank statements and company accounts on a regular basis
• Maintaining accurate and organised financial records and documentation
• Preparing invoices and statements for clients and customers
• Processing expense claims and managing petty cash records
• Assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Supporting the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Liaising with clients, vendors, and internal departments to resolve accounting queries
• Ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards
• Performing general administrative tasks to support the accounting department

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Certificate in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or a related field with minimum 2 years working experience

• Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel

• Excellent numeracy skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy

• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping practices

• Strong organisational and time management abilities

• Reliability and commitment to maintaining confidentiality of financial information

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
