Account Controller

About the role

Mega City Builder Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Account Controller to join our dynamic team in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. As the Account Controller, you will play a critical role in overseeing the company's financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting the overall financial strategy of the business.

What you'll be doing

1. Preparing and analysing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements to monitor the company's financial health
2. Overseeing the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely payments and collections
3. Reconciling bank accounts and managing cash flow
4. Assisting with the preparation of budgets and forecasts
5. Monitoring and ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations
6. Providing insightful financial analysis and recommendations to the management team
7. Supervising and mentoring the accounting team
8. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support the overall business objectives

What we're looking for

1. A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
2. Qualified accountant with 8+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the construction or real estate industry
3. Strong understanding of financial management, accounting principles and regulatory requirements
4. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide meaningful insights
5. Proficient in using financial software and data analysis tools
6. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
8. Proven leadership experience in managing and developing a team of accounting professionals
9. Female that able to communicate in Mandarin
