What they need
Account Coordinator - Collegiate Branded Merch
Looking for a job where the work is different every day—and you can actually see the things you help create? Synergy Imports works with colleges and universities across the country to turn ideas into custom-branded merchandise for students, alumni, donors, athletic teams, and major campus events. One day you might be researching a welcome gift for incoming students; the next you could be helping develop merchandise for an athletic program or a high-profile university event.
We’re a small, upbeat team. You won’t disappear into a giant corporate structure - you’ll learn directly from experienced people, see how the business works, and take on more responsibility as you prove you’re ready. The goal is for this role to develop into an Account Manager position where you’re managing customer relationships of your own.
Do you like figuring things out?
Some people see a vague request and wait for someone to tell them what to do. Others start asking questions: What is the customer really trying to accomplish? What information is missing? What options could work? Who can help me find the answer? Did I double-check everything before I sent it?
We're looking for the second person!
You do not need promotional-products experience. We will teach you the business. What matters much more is whether you are curious, dependable, detail-oriented, resourceful, a strong communicator, and someone who genuinely cares about doing good work.
As you learn the business, you’ll build the skills to turn customer ideas into real solutions. You will:
- Learn how to understand what a customer is trying to accomplish — and ask the right questions when important details are missing.
- Identify industry trends.
- Research products and suppliers to find options that fit the customer’s goals, budget, and timeline.
- Gather and organize pricing, inventory, production, and delivery information.
- Build accurate, professional customer quotes.
- Work with industry and company software to keep projects and information organized.
- Draft clear, professional emails to customers and suppliers.
- Take on more responsibility as your product knowledge, judgment, and confidence grow.
What success looks like:
We’re targeting individuals who are up-beat, energetic and fun to interact with because we are in the ‘customer service’ business and we value the customer experience like no other. Additional requirements include:
- Produces accurate, dependable work and catches mistakes before they become problems
- Learns quickly, asks thoughtful questions, and applies what they learn
- Works efficiently while maintaining a high standard of accuracy
- Thinks through problems, explores options, and keeps moving when the answer isn’t obvious
- Communicates clearly, professionally, and with good judgment
- Takes feedback well, makes adjustments, and follows through
- Brings a positive, dependable, team-oriented attitude to the work
Communication matters here:
Much of our communication with customers and suppliers happens through email, so strong spelling, grammar, and written communication skills are essential.
But this is also a relationship business. You need to be comfortable picking up the phone, calling a customer or supplier, asking questions, following up, and having professional conversations.
Your background:
A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of post-college work experience are required.
Strong candidates may come from hospitality, retail, customer service, sports, logistics, marketing, event planning, administrative support, or other fast-paced environments where accuracy and service matter. We also value a demonstrated history of responsibility, reliability, and work ethic.
Hours: 8am-5pm M-F (In office - not remote)
Salary: $52,500 - $57,500
Why Synergy Imports:
Because we’re small, your work will be visible and important. You’ll work directly with experienced people and decision-makers, learn how customer relationships are built, and gain responsibility as your skills grow.
If you’re upbeat, curious, take pride in doing good work, and want a role where you can build real business skills and grow into managing customer relationships of your own, we’d like to hear from you.
