About the Role

HC Advisory is looking for an Account Executive / Senior Account Executive to join our growing professional services team.

We are looking for someone who can handle accounting work independently, solve problems, embrace technology and continuously improve the way work is done.

This position is suitable for candidates who are not only looking for an accounting job, but also want the opportunity to grow into supervisory and leadership roles as the firm expands.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle full sets of accounts for assigned clients
• Perform bookkeeping and accounting entries
• Prepare bank reconciliations
• Maintain General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• Prepare accounting schedules and supporting documentation
• Assist in preparation of management accounts and financial reports
• Review transactions and identify accounting issues
• Follow up with clients for outstanding documents and information
• Manage assigned client portfolios and deadlines
• Maintain proper digital documentation and working papers
• Assist in clearing outstanding accounting work and backlog
• Work closely with senior team members and management on accounting matters
• Support and improve internal accounting SOPs and workflows
• Guide junior team members where appropriate
• Use AI and technology to improve productivity and work quality

Requirements

• Diploma / Degree / Professional Qualification in Accounting, Finance or equivalent
• Minimum 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience preferred
• Experience handling full sets of accounts will be an advantage
• Good understanding of double-entry accounting
• Able to perform bank reconciliation independently
• Able to work independently with reasonable supervision
• Responsible and able to manage deadlines
• Good communication and client follow-up skills

Digital & Technology Skills

Candidates should be comfortable working in a modern digital environment.

Preference will be given to candidates with:

• Good Microsoft Excel skills
• Knowledge of formulas such as SUMIF / SUMIFS, IF, VLOOKUP
• PivotTable knowledge
• Good Microsoft Word and PDF handling skills
• Strong general computer and file-management skills
• Ability or willingness to use ChatGPT and other AI tools
• Interest in automation and improving repetitive work processes

You do not need to know every technology from Day 1.

However, you must be willing to learn, experiment, adapt and change the way you work when better methods are available.
