Account Executive

About the role

We are seeking an Account Executive to join the accounting team at HOMA ENGINEERING (M) SDN BHD. This is a full-time position based in Kuala Lumpur City Centre. In this role, you will be responsible for managing financial records, overseeing bookkeeping operations, and providing essential accounting support to ensure the smooth financial operations of our organisation. As an Account Executive, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial data and supporting our clients and internal stakeholders with their accounting needs. The candidate must have Full Set Account experience and be able to handle accounting matters independently.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks including recording transactions, reconciling accounts, and maintaining general ledgers
• Prepare and process invoices, purchase orders, and payment vouchers accurately and in a timely manner
• Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies promptly
• Maintain accurate and organised financial records in accordance with accounting standards and company policies
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and monthly reconciliation reports
• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including follow-up on outstanding payments
• Support tax compliance activities and ensure timely submission of required documentation
• Liaise with clients and internal departments to address accounting queries and provide financial information
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information and adhere to data protection protocols

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles, ideally in a small to medium-sized practice or accounting firm
• Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
• Solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles and practices
• Good numerical and analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues and clients
• Organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Professional demeanour and commitment to maintaining confidentiality
• Certification such as LCCI or relevant accounting qualifications is preferred
