Account Executive

About the role

We are seeking an Account Executive to join the accounting team at HUAT LAI RESOURCES BERHAD. This is a full-time position based in Melaka. In this role, you will be responsible for providing essential accounting support and assistance to our finance department. The Account Executive plays a vital part in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the broader financial operations of the organisation. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to develop their accounting career within a dynamic business environment.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing and processing invoices, purchase orders, and other accounting documents
• Recording and reconciling financial transactions in the accounting system
• Assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Supporting the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
• Performing bank reconciliations and identifying discrepancies
• Maintaining accurate and organised financial records and documentation
• Assisting with audit preparations and providing supporting documentation as required
• Supporting general ledger maintenance and account reconciliation
• Communicating with internal departments and external stakeholders regarding accounting matters
• Assisting with payroll processing and expense report verification

What we're looking for

• A professional qualification or diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles and practices
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Professional integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality of financial information
• Previous experience in an accounting role or similar support function is advantageous
