ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE

About the role

We are seeking an Account Executive to join the accounting team at Tong Seng Huat Rice Trading Sdn. Bhd. This is a full-time position based in Miri, Sarawak. As an Account Executive, you will play a crucial role in managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the financial reporting functions of our organisation. This position is essential to ensuring our financial operations run smoothly and our reporting remains compliant with regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Recording and posting financial transactions to the general ledger and subsidiary accounts
• Reconciling accounts to ensure accuracy and identifying discrepancies
• Preparing and processing invoices, purchase orders, and payment documentation
• Maintaining organised and comprehensive financial records and documentation
• Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and reports
• Performing bank reconciliations and cash management activities
• Supporting month-end and year-end closing procedures
• Liaising with internal departments and external stakeholders regarding financial matters
• Ensuring compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and applicable regulations
• Supporting audit activities and providing necessary documentation as required

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 2-3 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or a similar role
• Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word)
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
• Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Professional integrity and commitment to confidentiality
• Experience in the trading or import-export industry is preferred but not essential
