Account Executive

About the role

HLH Building & Construction is looking for a responsible and hands-on Account Executive to join our growing Finance & Accounts team. The successful candidate will support the company's daily accounting operations, project financial records, payments, collections and month-end closing.

Key responsibilities

• Handle daily accounting transactions and maintain accurate accounting records.
• Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR).
• Prepare supplier and subcontractor payments.
• Issue invoices and maintain customer billing records.
• Monitor customer collections and follow up outstanding payments.
• Perform bank reconciliations.
• Maintain supplier and subcontractor statements.
• Assist with monthly closing and preparation of management accounts.
• Maintain proper project income and expenditure records.
• Assist in monitoring project cash flow.

About you

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience preferred.
• Experience handling AP, AR, bank reconciliation and month-end closing.
• Construction, contracting or interior fit-out experience will be an advantage.
• Familiar with accounting software.
• Experience with Xero will be an advantage.
• Good Microsoft Excel skills.
• Responsible, organised and attentive to details.
• Able to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Good communication and follow-up skills.
