Account Executive

About the role

This role involves preparing and maintaining accounting records, performing monthly financial closings, and maintaining a full set of accounts with reconciliations and financial schedules. You will ensure compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), tax regulations, and statutory requirements, while liaising with external auditors, tax agents, bankers, and regulatory authorities. The position includes supporting accounting process improvements, assisting in budgeting and financial analysis, and participating in finance transformation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accounting records and journal entries
• Perform monthly financial closing
• Maintain full set of accounts, including account reconciliations and financial schedules
• Ensure compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), tax regulations, and statutory requirements
• Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, bankers, and regulatory authorities when required
• Support the implementation and continuous improvement of accounting processes and internal controls
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Participate in finance transformation and process improvement initiatives

About you

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting or finance experience
• Knowledge of full set accounting is essential
• Good understanding of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and Malaysian tax regulations
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Meticulous, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team
