About the role

We are seeking an Account Executive to join our team at our Kulai, Johor office on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your career in the accounting and bookkeeping sector whilst working with a diverse range of small to medium-sized businesses. As an Account Executive, you will play a vital role in managing client accounts, ensuring accurate financial records, and providing valuable support to our clients' financial operations. You will be the key point of contact for assigned clients, building lasting relationships and delivering exceptional service.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain accurate financial records and bookkeeping for assigned client accounts
• Prepare and reconcile bank statements, general ledgers, and trial balances
• Process invoices, expenses, and payroll transactions in a timely and accurate manner
• Perform month-end and year-end account reconciliations and closing procedures
• Liaise with clients to gather financial documentation and clarify accounting transactions
• Prepare financial reports and statements for client review and submission
• Identify and resolve discrepancies and accounting errors
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional accounting standards and regulations
• Support the delivery of compliant and accurate tax documentation
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships through professional communication and service delivery

What we're looking for

• Formal qualification in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field (Certificate, Diploma, or Degree level)
• Proven experience in bookkeeping, accounts management, or small practice accounting (minimum 2 years preferred)
• Proficiency in accounting software and spreadsheet applications (Excel, QuickBooks, or similar platforms)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, basic taxation, and financial regulations applicable in Malaysia
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple client accounts
• Professional communication skills and the ability to build and maintain positive client relationships
• Ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively within a team environment
• Knowledge of GST or SST compliance is advantageous
• A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with accounting practices
