Account Executive

About the role

Cosmos Instruments Sdn Bhd is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Account Executive to join our team in Seri Kembangan, Selangor. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable, preparing financial reports, performing reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records to support the company's business operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain a portfolio of client accounts, serving as the primary point of contact for account queries and updates
• Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations
• Monitor client account activity, reconcile transactions, and identify discrepancies or issues requiring resolution
• Coordinate with clients to gather necessary documentation and information for financial reporting purposes
• Process invoices, payments, and other accounting transactions in a timely and accurate manner
• Provide regular account updates and reports to clients, explaining findings and recommending improvements where necessary
• Liaise with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery and adherence to accounting policies and procedures
• Support audit preparation activities by organising documentation and responding to audit-related inquiries
• Identify opportunities to enhance client relationships and contribute to account growth and retention
• Stay informed of changes in accounting regulations and best practices relevant to client industries

What we're looking for

• A qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional accounting qualification (such as being a member of a recognized accounting body)
• Proven experience working in financial accounting and reporting, preferably in a client-facing role
• Strong proficiency in accounting software and financial reporting systems
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work accurately with complex financial data
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, standards, and regulatory requirements relevant to Malaysia
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain financial concepts clearly to clients
• Strong organizational and time management skills, capable of managing multiple client accounts simultaneously
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant office applications
• A professional and client-focused approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality service
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a collaborative environment
• Preferred: Experience with cloud-based accounting platforms and knowledge of Malaysian tax regulations
