Account executive

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Account Executive to join our team in Butterworth, Penang. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in supporting our clients' financial management and accounting needs. As an Account Executive, you will be the primary point of contact for our clients, managing their accounts, providing bookkeeping services, and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial records. This role is essential to maintaining client satisfaction and supporting the continued growth of our business.

What you'll be doing

• Managing and maintaining accurate financial records for assigned clients
• Preparing and reconciling bank statements and financial statements
• Recording transactions and maintaining general ledgers
• Processing invoices, expenses, and payroll for clients
• Conducting account reconciliations and identifying discrepancies
• Communicating with clients to gather financial information and clarify account details
• Providing basic accounting support and advice to clients on financial matters
• Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations
• Assisting with month-end and year-end closing procedures
• Maintaining confidentiality and security of client financial information

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working as an Account Executive, Bookkeeper, or similar role in an accounting firm or practice
• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and accounting practices
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
• Ability to manage multiple client accounts effectively
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Professional attitude with a commitment to accuracy and quality
• Relevant qualification or certification in accounting, bookkeeping or a related field is preferred
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with Malaysian accounting standards and tax requirements is advantageous
