Account Manager (Bookkeeping) — Full-Time
Keep The Books | Remote (Ireland)
About Keep The Books
Keep The Books is a remote bookkeeping practice supporting sole traders, limited companies, and partnerships across a range of industries in Ireland. We pride ourselves on accuracy, responsiveness, and building genuine relationships with our clients — all while working flexibly as a distributed team.
The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Account Manager to join our growing bookkeeping team. You’ll manage your own portfolio of clients, take full ownership of their bookkeeping and compliance needs, and work closely with the rest of the team to keep everything running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of client accounts end-to-end, ensuring accurate and timely bookkeeping
- Prepare and review VAT returns and support wider Revenue compliance obligations
- Maintain client records across Xero, Hubdoc, and related software
- Act as the main point of contact for your clients — building trust through clear, professional communication
- Identify and flag discrepancies, coding issues, or compliance risks proactively
- Collaborate with the wider bookkeeping team and escalate matters outside your scope where appropriate
- Support process improvements and share best practice across the team
Essential Requirements
- Qualified bookkeeper or accountant (e.g. IATI, ACCA, ACA, CPA, or equivalent) — part-qualified candidates also welcome
- 3+ years’ experience in bookkeeping or accounts practice
- Highly confident across accounting software — Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, and BrightBook
- Strong working knowledge of Irish VAT and Revenue compliance
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Takes full ownership and responsibility for own workload and deadlines
- Comfortable working within a team setting, remotely
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Quick learner, willing and enthusiastic to pick up new systems and processes
Desirable
- Prior experience in a remote or multi-client practice environment
- Experience managing or mentoring junior bookkeepers
- Familiarity with payroll and RCT (Relevant Contracts Tax) processing
- Strong written communication skills for client-facing correspondence
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset
Pay: €33,000.00-€38,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- Sick pay
- Work from home
Experience:
- Bookkeeping: 3 years (preferred)
Work Location: Remote
