Job Description (JD) Accounts Manager

Industry: Grain-Based Distillery / Ethanol / ENA Manufacturing
Department: Finance & Accounts
Reports To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) / Finance Head
Location: Radical Bio Organics Limited (RBOL)

Position Summary

The Accounts Manager is responsible for managing the organization's accounting operations, financial reporting, taxation, budgeting support, and internal financial controls. The role ensures accurate maintenance of books of accounts, timely reporting, and efficient financial management in a distillery manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Accounting

• Maintain accurate books of accounts in accordance with Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS) and applicable accounting principles.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Monitor general ledger, trial balance, and reconciliation of all accounts.
• Maintain ixed asset register and calculate depreciation.

2. Manufacturing Cost Accounting

• Monitor production costs including:

• Grain/Raw Material Cost

• Chemicals & Consumables

• Utilities (Steam, Power, Water)

• Fuel (Coal/Biomass)

• Packing Material

• DDGS & CO By-product Accounting

• Analyze production cost per KL of ENA/Ethanol.

• Perform inventory valuation as per accounting standards.

• Cond variance analysis between standard and actual costs.

3. Taxation & Statutory Compliance

• Ensure timely filing of:

• GST Returns

• TDS Returns

• Income Tax compliances

• Professional Tax

• TCS (where applicable)

• Coordinate statutory, tax, GST, and internal audits.

• Resolve audit observations and maintain statutory records.

• Liaise with auditors and government authorities.

4. Accounts Payable & Receivable

• Verify vendor invoices and process payments.
• Monitor customer collections and outstanding receivables.
• Prepare ageing analysis of debtors and creditors.
• Ensure timely reconciliation of vendor and customer accounts.

5. Banking & Treasury

• Manage daily cash flow.

• Prepare bank reconciliation statements.

• Coordinate with banks for:

• Working Capital Limits

• Bank Guarantees

• Letter of Credit (LC)

• Term Loans

• Financial Documentation

6. Budgeting & MIS

• Assist in annual budgeting and financial forecasting.

• Prepare monthly MIS reports including:

• Profit & Loss Statement

• Balance Sheet

• Cash Flow Statement

• Budget vs Actual Analysis

• Cost Analysis

• Present financial reports to management.

7. Inventory Accounting

• Verify inventory records of:

• Raw Materials

• Chemicals

• Packaging Materials

• Finished Goods

• DDGS

• CO

• Stores & Spares

• Coordinate physical stock verification.

• Reconcile physical inventory with ERP records.

8. Internal Controls

• Develop and maintain robust internal financial controls.
• Ensure compliance with company SOPs and approval matrices.
• Monitor financial risks and recommend corrective actions.
• Prevent financial fraud through strong control mechanisms.

9. ERP & System Management

• Maintain accounting data in ERP.
• Ensure proper accounting entries for all transactions.
• Support ERP implementation and process improvements.
• Generate financial reports from ERP.

Educational Qualification

• Chartered Accountant (CA) / CMA (Preferred)
• M. Com / MBA (Finance) / B. Com with relevant experience

Experience

• 5-10 years of experience in Finance & Accounts.
• Minimum 5 years in a manufacturing industry.
• Experience in Distillery, Ethanol, Sugar, Chemical, FMCG, or Process Manufacturing is preferred.
