Account manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Account manager to join Epoch HPL Sdn Bhd in Johor Bahru, Johor. This is a full time position that plays a crucial role to oversee the Company's accounting and finance functions for our wholesale trading operations As an Account manager, you will be responsible for monitoring and overseeing our organizations' financial health by managing planning, budgeting, reporting and financial controls to support business decisions, ensuring customer satisfaction and identifying opportunities for business expansion, this position is strategically important to our finance department and directly contributes to our company's growth objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full set of accounts and ensure accurate and timely accounting records ;

• Oversee accounts receivable and payable, including customer collections and supplier payments ;

• Monitor sales, purchases, inventory and cost of goods sold ;

• Review product costing, gross profit margins and sales performance ;

• Monitor inventory movements, stock valuation and slow-moving stock ;

• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports and cash flow forecasts ;

• Monitor customer credit limits, outstanding balances and overdue accounts ;

• Work closely with the sales and warehouse teams to ensure proper recording of sales, purchases and inventory transactions ;

• Liaise with auditors, tax agent, bankers, customers, suppliers and other external parties ;

• Ensure compliance with Malaysian Accounting standard , taxation, SST and other statutory requirements ;

• Review internal controls and improve accounting procedures, supervise and guide the accounts team ;

• Prepare budgets forecasts, financial information, financial analysis for management to support business decisions.

What we are looking for

• Degree in Accounting or other related field ;
• 4 years or more of relevant accounting experience, preferably in wholesale, distribution or trading ;
• Strong understanding and experience in handling full set of accounts and ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously ;
• Good understanding of inventory accounting, gross profit and credit control ;
• Familiar with Malaysian Accounting Standards and tax requirements ;
• Proficiency in using Autocount account software and Microsoft Office applications ;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships, able to work independently ;
• Experience managing, supervising an accounts team, problem solving skills and time effectively is an advantage ;
• MIA or other professional body qualifications will be an added advantage
