What they need
We are Packaged Sounds. We make Vinyl records and CDs for many of the UK's leading major and independent record labels, as well as individual artists, across virtually every genre.
Alongside Vinyl and CD manufacturing, we provide Vinyl Cutting and Mastering, Prepress Art and Studio services, Print & Packaging, and logistics for physical music releases across the UK, EU and US markets.
We are now looking for an Account Manager to join our growing team and help support our clients in the production of their physical music releases.
Developing relationships will be a key part of the role. We are looking for someone who is comfortable talking to artists, labels and other people within the music industry and who has a genuine interest in building long-term relationships.
The role will involve assisting clients with their projects from initial enquiry through to production and delivery. This could include Vinyl Pressing, CD and Cassette production, Print and Packaging, as well as helping clients understand the different options available to them and finding the right solution for their release.
You will work closely with our internal production, design, audio, procurement and logistics teams, as well as external partners, to make sure projects progress smoothly and to schedule.
This is an ideal role for someone who already has experience or a strong interest in the music industry, print, packaging, production, events or a related environment and is looking to develop their career in account management. Previous experience managing physical music releases would be valuable, but is not essential. We are more interested in finding someone who is organised, commercially aware, good with people and keen to learn.
Essential attributes
- Good communication skills and a friendly, confident manner when dealing with clients and colleagues
- Well organised, with good attention to detail and the ability to keep track of several tasks at once
- A willingness to learn and develop an understanding of Vinyl, CD, Print and Packaging production
- Comfortable working with people and building positive relationships
- Able to follow projects through, keep on top of deadlines and communicate when something needs attention
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Basic to good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Reliable, proactive and willing to take responsibility
- Good general administration skills
- An interest in music and the physical music business
Desired attributes
- Previous experience in a client-facing, customer service, administration, production or coordination role
- Experience working in the music industry, with artists, record labels, studios or music companies
- Experience or knowledge of Vinyl, CD, Cassette, Print or Packaging
- Experience working in print, packaging, manufacturing or production
- Previous experience helping to manage projects or orders
- An understanding of the physical music release process
- Familiarity with Vinyl Pressing and Test Pressing
- Experience using project management, CRM, MRP or ERP systems
- Good knowledge of a particular area or genre of the music industry
- Existing relationships or connections within the music industry
- An appreciation of music production, sound engineering or graphic design
- Passion for music and/or record collecting
We will consider applications from candidates with different levels of experience and may adjust the scope of the role depending on experience, circumstances and location.
If you are already established in the music industry and are looking for a new opportunity, we would be very happy to hear from you.
