Account Manager

Location: Gateshead, UK (Eurovent Group Head Office, Team Valley)

Reports to: Finance Manager

Scope: Group-wide — supporting all UK trading entities and the German subsidiary

Contract: Full-time, permanent

About Eurovent Group

Eurovent Group has been delivering bespoke HVAC, ventilation, purifying and hygiene solutions from the North East of England for close to 20 years. The Group now operates five trading companies across the UK and Germany — spanning HVAC design and installation, local exhaust ventilation, purifying systems and commercial hygiene services — supported by a shared-services team, EuroVA, which provides Finance, People, QHSE and Procurement across the whole Group.

Role Purpose

The Accounts Manager owns day-to-day financial operations across the Group's trading entities, working within the Finance team at EuroVA under the Finance Manager. This is a hands-on role covering bookkeeping, invoicing, credit control, payroll support, VAT compliance and intercompany recharges across multiple related companies, including support for the Group's German subsidiary.

Key Responsibilities

Bookkeeping & Transaction Processing

• Maintain accurate, up-to-date bookkeeping across the Group's trading entities.
• Process purchase and sales transactions against the correct entity, including cases where entities share suppliers or bank relationships.

Sales Invoicing & Intercompany Recharges

• Raise and manage customer invoicing for the entities in scope.
• Own the intercompany recharge process end to end, including supporting purchase order documentation and full audit trail.
• Ensure recharges reconcile accurately between the entities involved, feeding into the Finance Manager's month-end intercompany reconciliation.

Credit Control & Accounts Payable

• Manage credit control across the Group's customer base, including chasing aged debt and escalating risk accounts.
• Manage supplier accounts and payment runs across entities.

Payroll Support

• Provide payroll support across entities, including collating variable pay data and liaising with the payroll provider.
• Resolve day-to-day employee payroll queries.

VAT & Statutory Compliance

• Prepare and file UK VAT returns for each entity, maintaining supporting records.
• Support the Finance Manager and external advisors on statutory filings and compliance across jurisdictions, including the German subsidiary.

Management Reporting

• Provide accurate, timely financial data to support the Finance Manager's monthly management accounts and cash flow reporting.
• Respond to ad hoc finance queries from entity Managing Directors.

Essential Experience

• Part-qualified or qualified accountant (AAT, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), or demonstrable equivalent experience running finance operations.
• Experience working across multiple related legal entities, including intercompany transactions.
• Confident, hands-on experience with UK VAT compliance.
• Practical experience with credit control, accounts payable and payroll support.
• Strong Excel skills and comfort working within job-management or accounting software.
• Able to work directly with multiple stakeholders and prioritise across entities.
• High discretion, given exposure to financial data across the whole Group.

Desirable

• Prior experience in a group or shared-services finance function.
• Exposure to installation, engineering or field-service businesses (HVAC, ventilation, hygiene or similar trades).
• Working knowledge of German VAT or payroll basics, or experience supporting an overseas subsidiary.

Pay: £38,000.00-£48,000.00 per year
