Account Manager

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Accounting (EPC)

• Maintain project-wise accounting and profitability tracking for all ongoing and

completed projects

• Monitor project budgets vs actuals, cost allocation, and margin analysis

• Account for revenue recognition based on project milestones / percentage completion

method (POCM)

• Track WIP (Work-in-Progress), project accruals, and provisioning

• Ensure proper accounting of:

• Material consumption

• Subcontractor bills

• Site expenses

• Retention money and mobilization advances

2. GST Compliance

• Ensure compliance with GST guidelines for EPC contracts

• Ensure correct GST rate application and documentation to avoid litigation

• Perform GST reconciliation (GSTR-2B vs books) and ITC optimization

• Handle departmental notices, audits, and litigation if any

3. Job Work & Inventory Accounting

• Manage job work transactions (both inward and outward) as per GST provisions

• Maintain proper records of:

• Material sent for job work

• Material received from principals (if acting as job worker)

• Track challans, returns within stipulated time (180 days/1 year)

• Ensure accurate accounting of:

• Consumables

• Scrap/Wastage

• Inventory at site locations

4. Taxation & Statutory Compliance

• Manage GST filings (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, reconciliation)

• Handle TDS compliance (including contractor payments, professional fees, rent, etc.)

5. Audit & Regulatory Coordination

• Act as the coordinator for statutory, internal, and tax audits

• Prepare project-wise audit schedules and supporting documents

• Handle revenue recognition validation, cost allocation, and WIP verification

6. Day-to-Day Accounting Operations

• Supervise:

• Accounts Payable (vendor & subcontractor payments)

• Accounts Receivable (billing & collections)

• Monitor:

• Customer billing as per RA bills / milestones

• Vendor reconciliations and balance confirmations

• Ensure proper accounting of:

• Bank transactions

• Expenses and accruals

• Maintain internal financial controls across project sites

7. Working Capital & Fund Management

• Track project cash flows and fund utilization

• Monitor:

• Debtors (including government receivables)

• Retention money

• Advances and recoveries

8. MIS & Management Reporting

• Prepare MIS reports as required by the management reviewing:

• Profitability (monthly/Quarterly/Annually)

• Delays in project impacting financials

• Cash flow status, etc.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of:

• Accounting

• Project taxation & GST structuring

• Job work compliance under GST

• Expertise in project costing and revenue recognition (POCM)

• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Tally)

• Advanced Excel skills (MIS, reconciliations, dashboards)

• Strong analytical, coordination, and problem-solving abilities
