ACCOUNT MANAGER

About the role

Owns day-to-day accounting and the month-end close, and reviews every entry made by the accounts team before it goes to the CFO for approval. The group is preparing to list on Bursa Malaysia's ACE Market.

Key responsibilities

• Review and sign off the accounts team's work: sales invoices, progress billing, credit notes, customer receipts and customer aging
• Review supplier and subcontractor invoices, debit and contra notes, and payment vouchers before CFO approval
• Review bank reconciliations for all accounts
• Review journals, accruals and prepayments
• Review hire purchase schedules, fixed asset register, depreciation and retention ledgers
• Review inventory and stock reconciliations against physical counts
• Review payroll journals (posted in totals)
• Review customer and supplier master data changes, including verification of bank details
• Prepare the month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations
• Prepare monthly management accounts and the bad debt provision

About you

• Member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), or ACCA / CPA / CIMA working towards MIA membership
• 5 to 8 years in accounting, with at least 2 years supervising a team
• Construction or project accounting experience (progress billing, retention, subcontractor claims) preferred
• Working knowledge of MFRS; experience with SQL Accounting or similar systems
• Fluent in English
