An innovative deep-tech company developing next-generation photonic integrated circuits (PICs) is looking for a Photonics Account Manager to become a key link between its customers, technical teams and operations.

This is a highly collaborative role focused on owning the customer journey from project onboarding through delivery and long-term account development. You’ll ensure customers have clear visibility of project progress while coordinating internally to keep complex technical programmes moving.

What you'll do

You’ll take ownership of major customer engagements, from project kick-off and design submission through technical reviews, production runs, shipment, invoicing and after-sales support. Acting as the primary customer-facing contact, you’ll coordinate with R&D, engineering and operations teams to track deliverables, resolve open items and ensure customers are kept informed throughout the process. You’ll also help build scalable customer processes, improve internal workflows and maintain accurate CRM and customer data. Alongside managing existing relationships, you’ll develop trusted connections with technical and programme leaders, represent the business at industry events and contribute to growing its international customer network.

What you'll bring

• 3–7 years' experience in technical sales, account management, customer success or project/programme management.
• Experience within photonics, semiconductors, foundries or contract manufacturing is highly desirable.
• A Master's or PhD in Photonics, Engineering, Physics or a related technical discipline.
• Sufficient technical understanding to engage confidently with engineering teams and understand concepts such as DRC, insertion loss and fabrication yield.
• Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple complex customer engagements simultaneously.
• Strong customer communication skills and the ability to translate technical information into clear updates.
• Excellent collaboration and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to influence across teams without direct authority.
• A proactive, adaptable approach and the resilience to thrive in a fast-moving start-up environment.
• Fluent English; additional European or Asian languages are a plus.
• Willingness to travel internationally and occasionally work outside standard European office hours to support global customers.
