About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant Clerk to join the accounting team at WOOD SOONG SDN BHD in Senai, Johor. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining the financial integrity and operational efficiency of our organisation. As an Accountant Clerk, you will be responsible for handling day-to-day accounting tasks and supporting the broader finance function. What you'll be doing

• Processing and recording financial transactions, including invoices, receipts, and expense claims
• Maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts and subsidiary ledgers
• Preparing bank reconciliation statements and identifying discrepancies
• Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and reports
• Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Filing and organising financial documents in accordance with company procedures
• Supporting the month-end and year-end closing processes
• Entering data into accounting software and ensuring accuracy of records
• Responding to accounting enquiries from internal departments and external parties
• Assisting with payroll processing and related administrative tasks
• Supporting the senior accounting team with various ad-hoc accounting duties as required

What we're looking for

• A qualification in accounting, finance or a related field, such as a Diploma or Certificate in Accountancy
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Excellent organisational abilities and the capacity to manage multiple tasks efficiently
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
• Understanding of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping practices
• Reliability and a commitment to meeting deadlines
• Experience in a similar accounting clerk or bookkeeping role would be advantageous
• Knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards and taxation requirements is desirable
