Accountant

About the role

The Philippine Football Federation is seeking a dedicated Accountant to join our team in Carmona, Cavite. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in maintaining the financial integrity and transparency of our organization. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing accurate financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. This role is fundamental to supporting the PFF's mission to develop and promote football throughout the Philippines, providing the financial foundation upon which our operations depend.

Key responsibilities

1. Maintaining accurate and organized financial records for all Federation transactions and activities
2. Preparing and reconciling general ledger accounts on a monthly basis
3. Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in a timely manner
4. Preparing financial statements and reports in accordance with applicable accounting standards
5. Conducting bank reconciliations and investigating discrepancies
6. Managing expense tracking and budget monitoring across departments
7. Assisting with the preparation of annual financial audits and providing supporting documentation
8. Ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations and statutory requirements
9. Recording journal entries and adjustments as required
10. Supporting month-end and year-end closing procedures
11. Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive financial information

What we're looking for

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
2. Professional accounting certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent qualification
3. Minimum of 4-5 years of professional experience in financial accounting and reporting
4. Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
5. Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards
6. Excellent attention to detail with strong numerical and analytical skills
7. Sound understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management
8. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines
9. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across departments
10. Integrity and commitment to ethical financial practices
11. Experience in the sports or not-for-profit sector would be advantageous
