Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team and drive the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. Responsibilities

• Manage and perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes using financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Workday.
• Conduct detailed account reconciliation to ensure accuracy across all financial statements and ledgers.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and budgets to support strategic decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP standards and internal controls such as SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements.
• Handle confidential information with the utmost discretion while maintaining data entry accuracy in systems like ADP, Kronos, Ceridian, or UltiPro.
• Assist with payroll management using platforms like Paychex or ADP, ensuring timely processing and accuracy of employee payments.
• Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations related to governmental and non-profit accounting practices.
• Perform month-end closing procedures including account analysis, journal entries, and ledger review using Microsoft Office tools for data analysis in Excel.
• Contribute to process improvements within accounting systems and workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Experience

• Proven accounting experience with a strong understanding of corporate accounting principles and financial concepts.
• Experience working with various financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar systems.
• Familiarity with governmental accounting standards and non-profit accounting practices is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of payroll systems like ADP or UltiPro along with experience managing accounts payable/receivable is essential.
• Demonstrated ability in reconciling accounts, preparing journal entries, performing balance sheet reconciliations, and handling complex data analysis in spreadsheets.
• Prior experience in public accounting or within a financial services environment will be considered an asset.
• Strong numeracy skills combined with attention to detail for accurate bookkeeping and data entry tasks.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle confidential information responsibly while maintaining high standards of accuracy in fast-paced settings.

Pay: $79,404.09 - $145,540.41 per year
