About the role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team on a full-time basis at our Woodlands North Region location. This role is pivotal in managing our financial operations and ensuring accurate accounting practices across the organisation. As Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the financial health and strategic decision-making of SWHEELS AUTO PTE. LTD. through meticulous financial management and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts and ensuring accuracy of all financial records
• Processing accounts payable and receivable transactions, including invoice verification and payment processing
• Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
• Conducting bank reconciliations and investigating discrepancies
• Supporting the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts
• Managing payroll administration and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements
• Recording and categorising business transactions according to accounting principles and company policies
• Assisting with tax compliance, including GST/VAT submissions and other regulatory requirements
• Performing internal audits and implementing controls to safeguard company assets
• Liaising with external auditors and providing necessary documentation during audit processes
• Supporting cost analysis and financial performance reviews for the automotive operations

What we're looking for

• Completed accountancy qualification (e.g., AAT, ACCA, ACA or equivalent professional accounting qualification)
• Proven experience working as an Accountant in a commercial or automotive-related environment
• Strong proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel for financial analysis
• Solid understanding of bookkeeping principles, generally accepted accounting practices, and financial regulations
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills to manage multiple financial tasks simultaneously
• Proficiency in preparing financial statements and conducting financial analysis
• Knowledge of payroll processing and employment compliance requirements
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain financial information clearly
• Ability to work independently whilst maintaining accuracy and adhering to deadlines
• Experience in inventory management and cost accounting (preferred)
• Familiarity with the automotive industry or trades sector (advantageous but not essential)
