Job Description of an Accountant

An Accountant is responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, ensuring accuracy in financial transactions, and helping organizations comply with financial regulations and tax laws.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain financial statements and reports
• Record daily financial transactions in accounting systems
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Reconcile bank statements and company accounts
• Prepare tax returns and ensure tax compliance
• Assist with budgeting and financial forecasting
• Conduct or preparing documents for audits
• Monitor expenses and recommend cost-saving measures
• Ensure compliance with financial policies and regulations
• Support management with financial analysis and decision-making
• Knowledge of Accounts Receivable (A/R) and Accounts Payable (A/P) processes
• Experienced in handling full-cycle Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions
• Proficient in managing Accounts Receivable (A/R) and Accounts Payable (A/P) operations
• Able to perform A/R and A/P duties, including invoicing, payment processing, and account reconciliation

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Excel)
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Ability to handle confidential information
• Bahasa Melayu, English and Mandarin (preferred). We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.

Qualifications

• Diploma, Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Previous accounting experience may be required depending on the role
