Role Description This is a full-time remote Accountant role responsible for supporting the financial health and compliance of Specular Business Services and its client accounts. The Accountant will manage day-to-day accounting tasks, including recording financial transactions, maintaining general ledgers, preparing and analyzing financial statements, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting activities. The role includes reconciling accounts, monitoring cash flow, handling accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing. The Accountant will collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to support audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting, while maintaining up-to-date documentation and adhering to company policies and relevant accounting standards. This position requires strong attention to detail, commitment to accuracy, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in core accounting principles, including general ledger management, financial reporting, and account reconciliation.
• Proficiency with accounting software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, cloud-based accounting platforms, Excel or similar spreadsheet applications).
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow monitoring, and basic financial analysis to support decision-making.
• Knowledge of local accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements relevant to business services and consulting environments.
• Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with distributed teams and explain financial information clearly.
• Ability to organize workload, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities in a remote, fast-paced setting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CA, CMA) are an added advantage.
• Prior experience in professional services, consulting, or technology-driven businesses is beneficial.
