Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate and complete books of accounts and accounting records.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Prepare invoices, payment schedules, receipts and supporting financial documentation.
• Perform bank, supplier, customer and general ledger reconciliations.
• Monitor cash flow, income and expenditure.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts and variance analysis.
• Monitor actual expenditure against approved budgets.
• Maintain accurate general ledger postings and supporting schedules.
• Assist with payroll-related accounting activities.
• Support tax computations, filings and statutory financial obligations.
• Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, financial institutions and regulatory bodies when required.
• Maintain proper documentation for audit purposes.
• Strengthen internal financial controls and identify financial control weaknesses.
• Investigate discrepancies and implement corrective measures.
• Monitor financial transactions for accuracy, completeness and compliance.
• Provide management with financial analysis and recommendations.
• Ensure proper application of accounting policies and procedures.
• Support annual audit and financial review processes.
• Maintain confidentiality and integrity of financial information.

Requirements:

• A minimum of B.Sc./HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline.
• A minimum 2–5 years' relevant accounting experience depending on level.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Working knowledge of Nigerian tax and statutory requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, Odoo, SAP or similar platforms.
• Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• High level of integrity and financial confidentiality.
