This is a full-time opportunity where you’ll get to use your accounting skills across a broad range of responsibilities while gaining a genuine understanding of how a specialty coffee business operates.

Working as part of a small and collaborative finance team, you’ll have the opportunity to get involved in everything from financial reporting and reconciliations to payroll, accounts and supporting the wider business with financial insights.

We’re looking for someone who is confident with the numbers but also enjoys working with people, asking questions and finding better ways of doing things.

About the Role

Reporting to our Chief Financial Officer, you’ll play an important role in keeping the financial side of Five Senses running smoothly. You’ll work closely with the CFO and be well supported, with plenty of opportunity to ask questions, learn and develop your skills. Key duties include:

• Managing the day-to-day accounting transactions and ensuring our accounts are accurate and up to date
• Completing reconciliations across all major accounts
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with customers and suppliers
• Managing month-end processes and preparing monthly financial reports
• Managing payroll and supporting employees with payroll-related queries
• Managing company insurances
• Ensuring our tax and statutory obligations are met, including BAS, Payroll Tax and FBT
• Monitoring and managing cash flow
• Assisting with new system implementations and identifying opportunities to improve our processes

What We’re Looking For

This role would suit an Accountant with up to three years experience who is looking to broaden their skills and take on a varied role. We’d also love to hear from recent Accounting graduates, or those nearing completion of their degree (essential). Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who enjoys being part of a small team and is happy to roll up their sleeves and get involved. You’ll be someone who:

• Is reliable, organised and takes pride in getting the details right
• Has a strong eye for accuracy
• Takes initiative rather than waiting to be asked
• Can work independently while also being a great team player
