Placed.au is a recruitment company that connects Thai professionals with Australian businesses. Our client is currently looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to join their Bangkok team. This role will focus on Australian accounting and taxation practices, so you’ll gain valuable international experience while working locally.

Core Responsibilities

Accounting Operations

• Prepare accurate financial statements (e.g., balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements)
• Record and maintain daily financial transactions
• Post journal entries and reconcile accounts
• Manage accounts payable and receivable

Financial Management

• Monitor cash flow and ensure operational liquidity
• Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts
• Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize spending

Compliance & Auditing

• Implement and maintain internal controls
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and local regulations
• Support both internal and external audit processes

Payroll & Taxation

• Calculate and process payroll, including deductions and benefits
• Prepare and file relevant regulatory documents (excluding complex tax filings unless required)

Process Improvement

• Maintain and improve financial systems and reporting processes
• Provide insights and recommendations for greater efficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3 - 5 years of experience in accounting or auditing
• Experience using Xero is a plus
• Experience or familiarity with Australian accounting and taxation practices is an advantage
• Good command of both written and spoken English
• Understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Willing to learn and work with Australian accounting and taxation practices
• Must be able to work onsite 100%
