Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team! This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage a wide range of accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across financial operations. Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and record journal entries to ensure accurate financial data in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and company policies.
• Perform account reconciliations for the general ledger, balance sheets, and subsidiary ledgers to verify accuracy and completeness.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes using financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar systems.
• Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and oversee cash flow analysis to support budgeting and forecasting efforts.
• Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls by documenting processes and supporting internal audits.
• Utilize various financial systems including Workday, Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, Ceridian, and PeopleSoft for payroll processing, time tracking, and HR-related accounting functions.
• Handle confidential information with integrity while managing data entry tasks related to payroll management, tax filings, and governmental reporting.
• Assist in preparing financial reports for management review by analyzing Excel data, performing data analysis on spreadsheets, and supporting audit requests.
• Support special projects such as non-profit accounting initiatives or governmental accounting requirements as needed.

Experience

• Proven accounting experience with a strong foundation in corporate accounting principles; public accounting experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms; experience with financial software like UltiPro or Ceridian is advantageous.
• Knowledge of GAAP standards along with technical accounting skills related to journal entries, account analysis, and general ledger reconciliation.
• Demonstrated ability in data entry accuracy, math skills including debits & credits management, and double-entry bookkeeping practices.
• Experience handling accounts payable/receivable processes along with payroll management using systems like ADP or Paychex.
• Strong understanding of financial concepts such as budgeting, credit analysis, balance sheet reconciliation, and account reconciliation procedures.
• Excellent numeracy skills complemented by proficiency in Microsoft Office tools—especially Excel for data analysis—and familiarity with spreadsheets for financial reporting.
