Accountant

Responsibilities

Lead the month-end and year-end financial closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports prepared by junior accounting staff.
Prepare and review VAT, income tax, withholding tax, and other applicable tax filings while ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
Contribute to budgeting and forecasting activities, including analyzing variances between actual and budgeted results.
Maintain and oversee the fixed asset register, including depreciation calculations and schedules.
Manage intercompany transactions and ensure accurate and timely reconciliations.
Assess existing accounting processes and internal controls, identify gaps, and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Supervise, support, and provide guidance and training to junior accountants.
Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors, tax authorities, banks, and other relevant stakeholders.
Assist with cash flow monitoring and support treasury-related activities as required.

Desired Candidate Profile

3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably with exposure to senior-level accounting responsibilities within project-based environments.
Strong understanding and practical knowledge of IFRS, particularly IAS 2, IFRS 15, and IFRS 16, where applicable.
Hands-on experience with ERP systems, including system setup and configuration, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and process improvements. Experience with Odoo is considered an advantage.
Advanced Excel skills, including proficiency in PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, financial analysis, and data reconciliation.
Strong experience in communicating and coordinating with external auditors and tax authorities.
