About the role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our Company in Puncak Alam, Selangor. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in maintaining and improving our financial operations. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for managing budgets, financial reporting, and cost analysis to support strategic business decisions. This position is integral to ensuring the accuracy of our financial records and contributing to the company's overall financial health and growth.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain financial statements, ledgers, and journals in compliance with accounting standards and regulations
• Conduct budget planning, forecasting, and variance analysis to monitor departmental spending and financial performance
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliation of accounts and preparation of financial reports
• Analyse financial data to identify cost-saving opportunities and provide recommendations for improved efficiency
• Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate payment processing
• Assist in the preparation of management accounts and reports for internal stakeholders
• Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information and support budget development
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and prepare relevant tax documentation
• Maintain detailed financial records and documentation for audit purposes
• Support internal and external audits and investigations as required

What we're looking for

• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CA, or equivalent) / MIA member
• Minimum 5 years of experience in management accounting, budgeting, or a similar accounting role
• Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and tax regulations
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organisational and time-management abilities to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams
• Knowledge of the distribution or retail industry is advantageous
• Reliability, integrity, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality of financial information
