Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our financial team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting various accounting functions across the organization. Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and analyze journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger accounting to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory standards.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes using financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar systems.
• Conduct detailed account analysis, including account reconciliation and double entry bookkeeping to maintain the integrity of financial data.
• Assist with budgeting, financial reporting, and data entry tasks while leveraging Excel data analysis skills for insightful financial analysis.
• Support internal controls and compliance initiatives related to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements and other regulatory frameworks.
• Handle confidential information with discretion while managing various accounting systems like Workday, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, Ceridian, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on projects involving governmental accounting, nonprofit accounting, or public accounting standards as needed.
• Contribute to month-end closing activities including journal entries, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliation to ensure timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with strong knowledge of GAAP and governmental or nonprofit accounting practices.
• Proficiency in multiple financial software platforms such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, ADP, UltiPro or equivalent systems.
• Demonstrated ability in technical accounting tasks including journal entries, account reconciliation, balance sheet management and general ledger oversight.
• Strong analytical skills with expertise in Excel data analysis and spreadsheet management for accurate financial reporting.
• Excellent numeracy skills combined with a solid understanding of debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping and financial concepts.
• Experience working within public accounting firms or corporate accounting environments is highly desirable.
• Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially while maintaining high attention to detail under tight deadlines.
• Effective communication skills paired with customer service orientation to collaborate across departments.

Pay: $69,000.00 - $93,000.00 per year
