Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a detail-oriented, responsible and proactive Accountant to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be involved in the full spectrum of accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting, proper documentation and compliance with Malaysian accounting and statutory requirements. This role is suitable for an individual who is able to work independently, has strong attention to detail, and is eager to develop their accounting and financial management skills.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and manage day-to-day accounting operations, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL) and bank reconciliations.
• Handle and maintain full set of accounts, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and management accounts.
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly closing of accounts.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and review accounting entries and supporting documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Monitor company cash flow, expenses and financial transactions.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, financial analysis and variance analysis.
• Establish and maintain proper financial controls, accounting procedures and filing systems.
• Maintain complete and organised accounting documentation and records.
• Ensure compliance with applicable Malaysian accounting standards, taxation requirements and statutory regulations.

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, or relevant professional accounting certification.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience in handling full set accounts.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, taxation and Malaysian statutory requirements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Experience in full-set accounting, General Accounting or Cost Accounting will be an advantage.
• Good understanding of AP, AR, GL and bank reconciliation.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent accuracy and organisational skills.
• Able to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Good analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Proactive, responsible and willing to learn.
