Accountant

Maven Contracting and General Maintenance is looking for an experienced Accountant to join our team in the UAE.

We are seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional with strong experience in construction accounting, financial reporting, supplier and subcontractor accounts, payroll coordination, VAT compliance, and project cost control.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including journal entries, general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Maintain accurate accounting records for projects, suppliers, subcontractors, and company expenses.
• Process supplier invoices, subcontractor payments, petty cash, employee reimbursements, and other financial transactions.
• Prepare customer invoices, payment applications, and follow up on outstanding receivables.
• Reconcile bank accounts, supplier statements, customer accounts, and intercompany transactions.
• Monitor project costs, budgets, commitments, and actual expenditures.
• Support preparation of project cost reports, cash flow reports, and management accounts.
• Coordinate with procurement, HR, project teams, and management on financial matters.
• Assist with payroll preparation, employee advances, deductions, and final settlements.
• Prepare and maintain VAT records, tax invoices, and supporting documentation in compliance with UAE VAT requirements.
• Support VAT return preparation and coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants where required.
• Maintain fixed asset registers, accruals, prepaid expenses, provisions, and other accounting schedules.
• Prepare payment schedules and ensure payments are processed in accordance with company approval procedures.
• Support year-end closing, audits, and preparation of financial statements.
• Ensure proper filing and control of invoices, receipts, payment vouchers, contracts, LPOs, and other financial documents.
• Assist management with financial analysis, cost control, and budget monitoring.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting procedures, and applicable UAE regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in the UAE.
• Experience in the construction, contracting, maintenance, or engineering sector is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, payroll, and financial reporting.
• Experience handling supplier, subcontractor, project, and cost-control accounts.
• Hands-on experience with Odoo ERP accounting modules and Zoho Books / Zoho accounting applications is preferred.
• Good knowledge of accounting software, ERP systems, and digital financial record management.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office.
• Excellent numerical, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Immediate availability or a short notice period is preferred.
