Accountant

We are seeking a hands-on Staff Accountant to join a lean, collaborative Accounting team. This is a newly created position that will support accounting activities across multiple entities, with an initial focus on AP, AR, inventory accounting and account reconciliations.

The ideal candidate has a solid accounting foundation, experience working within an ERP environment, and the ability to step into a fast-moving environment and begin contributing quickly.

This position is currently required to be onsite five days per week in McKinleyville, CA.

Key Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day accounting activities, including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Perform account reconciliations and assist with resolving discrepancies.
• Support inventory and production-related accounting activities.
• Assist with general ledger and balance sheet accounting.
• Support month-end close activities as needed.
• Work within the company's ERP environment to process, review and reconcile accounting information.
• Export and analyze ERP data using Excel.
• Work with VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables and other Excel functionality to support accounting and reporting needs.
• Support accounting activities across multiple entities/business units.
• Assist with accounting responsibilities associated with Canadian operations.
• Work with foreign currency transactions and reconciliations as applicable.
• Learn and work across multiple ERP systems as the organization continues to evolve its systems and processes.
• Take on additional accounting responsibilities over time as knowledge of the organization and business grows.
• Partner closely with Accounting, Finance and other cross-functional stakeholders.

Must Haves

• Prior hands-on accounting experience.
• Strong AP and AR experience.
• Inventory accounting experience.
• Account reconciliation experience.
• General understanding of accounting processes.
• Experience working within an ERP environment.
• Working knowledge of Excel, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables.
• Ability to learn quickly and operate effectively within a lean Accounting team.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with the broader Accounting/Finance team.
• Solid foundational accounting experience with the ability to begin contributing relatively quickly.
• Ability to work onsite five days per week in McKinleyville, CA.
