Accountant

We are looking on behalf of our client, a leading organization operating in the Trading, Shipping & Logistics sector, with a strong presence in the Greek market and international business exposure, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting professional.

Responsibilities

• Execute daily treasury operations, including domestic and international payments, SWIFT/SEPA transfers, and multi-currency settlements.
• Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and alignment with the company's trading and operational activities.
• Monitor cash positions and support liquidity management across multiple banking relationships.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Support external auditors by preparing documentation and responding to audit requests.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and company policies.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Finance, Operations, Trading, and Logistics functions to support business activities and optimize financial processes.

Candidate Profile

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
• 3 to 6 years of relevant professional experience in Accounting, Treasury, Finance, or a related function.

Required Skills

• Good understanding of banking operations, reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable processes, and financial transactions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office applications.
• Fluency in Greek and English, both written and spoken.

Preferred Skills

• Previous experience in a trading, shipping, logistics, maritime services, or international business environment will be considered a strong asset.
• ACCA, ACA, SOEL, or other relevant professional qualification (completed or in progress) will be considered an asset.
• Proficiency in Danaos Accounting Software will be considered a strong asset.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
