ACCOUNTANT

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in accounting operations within the UAE construction industry, preferably with an MEP contracting company. The candidate will be responsible for project accounting, cost monitoring, payroll/WPS processing, payment documentation, and day-to-day accounting transactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and monitor Project Cost Reports, including project expenses and cost tracking.
• Record and maintain Journal Vouchers (JV) and Payment Vouchers (PV) accurately.
• Review, verify, and record Petty Cash transactions and supporting documents.
• Prepare cheque payments and maintain the Cheque List / Cheque Register database.
• Process and maintain payroll and WPS transactions in compliance with UAE requirements.
• Monitor project-related expenses and ensure proper allocation of costs to respective projects.
• Review invoices, payment requests, receipts, and other supporting documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain proper accounting records and documentation.
• Assist with monthly closing, account reconciliation, and preparation of financial reports.
• Coordinate with project, procurement, HR, and management teams regarding financial and accounting matters.
• Ensure compliance with company accounting procedures and applicable UAE regulations.
• Perform other accounting duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Master's Degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or a related field from a recognized university.
• Minimum 5 years of UAE accounting experience in General Contracting / Construction companies.
• MEP construction experience is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in Payroll and WPS processing is mandatory.
• Experience in project costing and construction accounting is highly preferred.
• Good knowledge of UAE accounting practices and documentation.
• Strong skills in MS Excel and accounting software.
• Good communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Must be currently residing in the UAE.
