Accountant

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to manage the company’s financial transactions, accounts, inventory-related accounting, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate should have experience in jewellery, retail, trading, or a similar industry, with strong knowledge of inventory and stock reconciliation.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records of all daily financial transactions.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including supplier and customer accounts.
• Prepare and maintain invoices, receipts, payment vouchers, and journal entries.
• Perform daily reconciliation of cash, bank, credit card, and other payment transactions.
• Maintain accurate accounting records for gold, diamonds, gemstones, jewellery, and other inventory.
• Record jewellery purchases, sales, returns, repairs, exchanges, and transfers.
• Reconcile physical jewellery stock with accounting and inventory records.
• Monitor gold weight, purity, making charges, stone values, discounts, and sales prices where applicable.
• Assist with monthly and annual closing of accounts.
• Prepare profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash-flow reports, and other management reports.
• Monitor expenses and ensure proper supporting documentation for all transactions.
• Coordinate with auditors and provide required financial documents and schedules.
• Ensure compliance with applicable VAT and accounting requirements.
• Maintain proper filing of financial documents and records.
• Identify discrepancies in sales, purchases, cash, or inventory and report them to management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience; jewellery or retail experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience with inventory and stock reconciliation is highly desirable.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Knowledge of UAE VAT is an advantage for UAE-based roles.
• Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
• Good communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Preferred Jewellery Industry Experience

Candidates with experience in jewellery retail, gold trading, diamond trading, or precious metals will be preferred, particularly those familiar with:

• Gold and jewellery inventory accounting
• Stock/weight reconciliation
• Gold purity and valuation
• Diamond and gemstone inventory
• Making charges and wastage
• Jewellery sales and purchase accounting
• Customer and supplier ledger management
• Daily sales and cash reconciliation
• VAT and retail accounting
• Assist management with financial analysis, budgeting, and cost control.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial and business information.

Pay: From AED3,500.00 per month
