Accountant

About the role

E&E Electrical System is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our growing finance team. This is a full-time position based in Sibu, Sarawak, offering you the opportunity to play a key role in the financial management and operational efficiency of our organisation. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting budget management, and providing analytical insights that drive informed business decisions. This position is instrumental in ensuring the financial health of E&E Electrical System and supporting our strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing and maintaining accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries
• Managing and reconciling bank accounts and financial statements on a regular basis
• Supporting the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and statements
• Assisting with budget preparation, monitoring and variance analysis to ensure alignment with business objectives
• Processing invoices, expense claims and payment transactions in accordance with company policies and procedures
• Conducting financial analysis and providing management accounting support to senior leadership
• Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations and company financial policies
• Supporting internal and external audit activities and responding to audit queries
• Maintaining confidentiality and secure handling of sensitive financial information
• Assisting with the implementation and improvement of accounting processes and systems

What we're looking for

• Completed tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline

• Prepare quotation, invoice and supporting document.

• Strong proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment

• Competence in budget management, forecasting and financial analysis

• Familiarity with Malaysian tax legislation and GST compliance is advantageous
