Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. Duties

• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
• Perform account reconciliations, including general ledger accounts and bank statements, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes using financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar systems.
• Conduct journal entries, double entry bookkeeping, and ledger maintenance to ensure proper recording of financial transactions.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities to assist management in financial planning.
• Handle confidential information with integrity while maintaining compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and internal policies.
• Utilize Excel data analysis skills for detailed reporting, data entry accuracy, and financial modeling.
• Assist with audit preparations by providing documentation and explanations of financial records.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams using systems like Workday, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro or Ceridian for payroll and HR-related data management.
• Contribute to process improvements within accounting systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
• Proven experience in corporate accounting or governmental accounting environments.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP standards and technical accounting principles.
• Hands-on experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft or similar platforms; familiarity with ADP, Kronos or UltiPro is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite—especially Excel—for data analysis and report generation.
• Demonstrated ability to perform account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and account analysis accurately.
• Excellent numeracy skills with strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining compliance with internal controls like SOX.
• Effective communication skills for customer service interactions within finance teams or external auditors.

Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
